Raised in the pit of fire known as Arizona, Vincent spent his childhood running wild in the desert covered in cholla and scorpion stings. Being shy, he receded into nature and confided in animals for company, and it is there that his imagination took flight. From his earliest memories, Vincent has been entrapped by the need to create, and his surroundings have helped to inspire the world in which he writes. He has traveled across the U.S. and been overseas to Europe and Asia, with plans to continue to explore the different cultures and art of the world. Many of his settings are inspired by his time living in Arizona’s desert and mountain forests, the jungle-like swampland of Florida, and the fertile land of Indiana. His work is often described as theatrical, refreshingly unique, and vivid with grotesque and beautiful creatures. Much of his inspiration comes from mythology, immersive fantasy-based games, and film.
Though Vincent’s early life was spent sketching creatures and making up worlds and languages, his creative direction shifted when his father unexpectedly died in 2011. While on the path to a Fine Arts degree, he took an unrestricted writing course that set him on his path to achieving a master’s degree in Writing Popular Fiction. His novel, Death’s Devotion, stemmed from the first class at a community college in 2011 and was completed as his thesis for his MFA in 2022. He has published short fiction in The Vortex Magazine and has worked as an editor for a literary magazine, as a workshop editor for his college, and as (and still is) a dog groomer. He currently resides outside of Philadelphia, PA, with his partner Randy, three hairy dog monsters named Dobby, Tyr, and Freya, and a lazy dragon called Goomba.
